Last Yard has a mobile scanner app for your easy scanning convenience.
Accessing the App
By using the 'Chrome web' browser on any smart device (mobile phone, tablets etc.) and heading to the web address you use to log into Last Yard such as iga.lastyard.net or app.lastyard.net.
Once logged in you can simply add at the end of the URL: /mobile making it xxxx.lastyard.net/mobile
Where "xxxx" is your store's Last Yard account instance. For example, IGAs will be logging into iga.lastyard.net.
This will give you access to the scanner.
You can sign in using the same 'username' and 'password' you use for the Last Yard website.
Installation
It is recommended that the Mobile Scanner application is installed on the PDA/smartphone. When first navigating to the Mobile Scanner URL described above you will be prompted to save the application to your home screen. Doing so will add a Last Yard app icon on your devices home screen and then open the app outside of the chrome browser.
This will provide a better experience over running in the browser. The URL will still be accessible in the browser.
Once logged in you'll see the below screen:
You'll want to select the 'Scan to Batch' Option. You can choose a default 'template' and 'theme' here too and also enter a batch name. If you want you can leave the auto generated batch name which uses the current date and time, however these can be hard to discern between if you're creating a few batches. Up to you.
Once you've made those selections the 'Start Scanning' Button will show as blue and you can go to the next screen.
On the next screen you'll see the viewfinder rectangle which uses your smart devices camera.
Hold up the barcode and it will scan the product straight to the batch.
You can 'View' the products you've scanned and make changes. Then when done hit the 'Finish' button.
The batch of tickets will appear on your Last Yard Dashboard below 'Future Batches' and be ready to edit and print.
NOTE: Camera Permission
When first opening the scanner software, users must select the 'Allow' permission for camera access on the PDA devices. If the camera permissions are declined, this will cause the infrared scanner to not work.
Update settings:
For enhanced scanner performance, adjust the keystroke output settings within the data wedge Profile0 to incorporate a 25ms delay between keystrokes (please refer to the screenshot below).
